Amber Dawn French hails from Wisconsin - land of dairy and "cheese-heads" (fond nickname for Packer fans). She loves to travel...most recently she was able to see Paris, Venice and Rome! Amber also loves to read, and is an avid lover of mystery novels by Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers. Meeting new people, vintage anything 60s and earlier, Mary Poppins, running, singing with friends around the piano, and being silly are also on Amber's list of favorites. Oh, and she plays the accordion! For the more mundane biographical facts about Amber's life, please enjoy the following paragraphs. Thanks so much for visiting my web page!

Amber French earned a bachelor's degree in English Education, with a minor in Music (Voice Proficiency) from Bob Jones University in South Carolina. She then went on to earn a master of arts degree in Fine Arts (Speech and Music) from BJU, which culminated in her graduate project - a one-person show titled "Jenny Lind: Swedish Nightingale" where she acted and sang as the artist Jenny Lind. During her college years she enjoyed participating in many fine arts events including playing a nun and musician in Cyrano de Bergerac, playing percussion in the Symphonic Wind Band, and singing in the University Chorale.

After college Amber began teaching English at Caroline High School here in Virginia. During her seven years there she became the Choral and Theatre Arts Director. Amber enjoyed the many adventures she and her students went on together...singing at District Festival, traveling to NYC, being silly on stage in the classroom, competing at District One-Act Play Festival, and singing together around the piano.

Outside of school Amber participated in the Acts of Faith Theatre Festivals (2012-2014) in Richmond, performing in Mark Twain's Civil War, Gettysburg 1963 and Nothing to Fear (original plays by Ray Carver). She also performed in Fredericksburg Christian Community Theater’s 2012 summer production of Oklahoma. Amber  performed and directed at The Riverside Center Dinner  Theater for several years as well, beginning as a nun in The Sound of Music and participating in various ways at the theater - working as a costume mistress backstage, directing Charlotte's Web, and performing in Les Miserables and It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (Mary Hatch).

Amber was also active in Fredericksburg’s fine arts community participating in events such as CYT Fredericksburg (Christian Youth Theater), The Rude Mechanicals (performance group), Rappahannock Summer Music Camp, and FAYM Chorus Camp (Fredericksburg Area Young Musicians).

Amber has since relocated to NC and been active in the arts there - as a performer, teacher, music director, and director. She worked in Charlotte performing at CPCC's Fiddler on the Roof (Fruma Sarah / Mirala), Evita (Ensemble), and Oklahoma! (Ado Annie). While in Charlotte, she also had the opportunity to work with Mooresville Community Children's Theatre as the music director for their productions of The Addams Family and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. While in Charlotte, Amber began performing in various productions at Cape Fear Regional Theatre over in Fayetteville, NC - Annie (Ensemble), Memphis (Ensemble), Mamma Mia! (Ensemble).

Amber now resides in Fayetteville, NC and continues to work as much as she can at Cape Fear Regional Theatre. She teaches classes with the CFRT Studio, performed in Shrek (Pig 3 / Ensemble), directs and music directs various CFRT youth shows/camps, and volunteers her time at the theatre.

Presently Amber is preparing to perform as Grace Bradley in Cape Fear Regional Theatre's 30th anniversary production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. She plans to continue performing, directing, and teaching through any opportunity that arises.
